The ease with which you can post by email, and send images and video which are automatically resized means I keep toying with it for various things but haven’t found something which has got me using in regularly (I’ve already got two self-hosted Wordpress blogs including this one, and a pretty active Twitter account etc). So FriendsReunited is now owned by Brightsolid, a subsidiary of comic publisher DC Thompson, which paid £25 million in August but still hasn’t added the sites to the official website. (edit: This is due to the fact the purchase is being looked at by regulators, and is therefore not complete). And their first move is to buy traditional TV advertising? Unless… The fact that Brightsolid owns findmypast.com and the advert clearly positions GenesReunited on an equal footing to FriendsReunited gives one indication where things are going. And… -

31 Oct 2009 | 2:08 amQuite funny seeing which stories followed each other on PaidContent this morning – one story is following the response from UK ISPs to Lord Mandelson’s proposal to disconnect illegal filesharers – but that immediately followed that the EC has set a two month deadline to overhaul UK rules on digital privacy.Or the UK Govt will end up in court. Interestingly, it appears the EC are reacting fairly strongly to the UK passing of behavourial-targetting technology, e.g Phorm, but meanwhile France already has a law forcing ISPs to identify filesharers and using a three-strikes rule… -

He’s claimed titles on five different types of motorcycle (125cc,250cc,500cc two strokes and 990 and 800cc four-strokes), lapped 0.5 seconds slower than Michael Schumacher in an F1 car and won events in a WRC rally car.
