Meters Why bother reaching for the heights of Damage meter pwnage if you don’t have competition. Mages provide that competition, big time. More often than not if you are looking at the top 3 positions in a damage meter they will be filled by Hunters, Rogues and Mages. The question is, which of us will be No. 1? Trading threat Threat is bad… Trading threat is good, especially between ranged toons. Playing a bit of mob ping pong is great fun. Your threat too high, vanish, feign… -

Trolls slaughtered by the dozen – check hehehehe The Baron unseated from his mount and Arthas’ shame cleansed – check The world was saved… Or was it? Gnomeaggedon rested at the Argent Dawn campsite. The gryphon ride from Lights Hope Chapel hadn’t filled him with the usual joy at taking wing. So he dismounted before reaching Ironforge, he needed some time to gather his thoughts.

3 Nov 2009 | 1:04 pmMy guild now has close to thirty 80s. I am raring to get into some raids… seriously, Naxx10 should not be out of reach for us at this point. We have three mainspec tanks with good enough gear to get moving on things, supposedly we have three mainspec healers (though one of them is not very good, and one might as well be imaginary for all I’ve seen her online) and a whole busload of dps. But what’s happening is this: any player with the requisite experience for raid leading is already PuGging it every week. Our GM is, how shall we say it, flaky? and won’t schedule… -

Myrhani the Hallowed
27 Oct 2009 | 4:14 pmAurdon and Adreanna and Naelian and me have been farming the Horseman. We’ve been farming him like it’s a second job. Actually, it’s been pretty fun… And after a week of constant tries, she finally got it. The Hallowed Helm. The final element. Hallowed means holified... how appropriate. And the most exciting bit is that both Nael and Adreanna have gotten the horseman’s mount! So far no horsies forthcoming for Aurdon and me… we’ll keep trying though. -

It’s supremely frustrating! Nothing makes you feel more like a fail healer than watching your tank wilt and die over and over again, and not knowing what is going wrong. They turned me down at the time of the application because they had filled the position but apparently things didn’t work out. This = win. I have been on a downward slope with my guild for longer then I care to remember but I don’t think it was until Ulduar that I really started to notice being passed over for raid invites. PTR Patch 3.3 Testing: 20k Deep Freezes
26 Oct 2009 | 2:32 amCopied my Mage over to the Public Test Realm, and also copied some pre-made Mages over as well. Holy Crap! 20,000 damage Deep Freezes! That is only self buffed too! If you just add another 13% Damage increase from only Curse of Elements, you’re looking at 22.6k Deep Freeze! The character I used was the pre-made Mage, who had 5/5 Heroic Tier 9, and had all the right gems and enchants. He had 2788 Spell Power, 29.73% Critical Strike Rating, and 500 Haste Rating. That was including [Flask of the Frost Wyrm]. The DPS I was able to produce on Dr. Boom from full health to death? 4002 DPS. -
PTR Patch 3.3 – Deep Freeze on Bosses
21 Oct 2009 | 12:24 pmThe PTR Patch Notes have been updated once again on the WoW website with a few new changes to the upcoming patches. You can view the the full patch notes here. The only reason you are here reading however, is because of the new change to Deep Freeze. The new change to Deep Freeze is: Deep Freeze: This spell now deals a large amount of damage to targets permanently immune to stuns. A PvE buff to a Spell that doesn’t effect the PvP aspect of it! Good job Blizzard! We have yet to see what this “large amount of damage” is, but it is nice to see that Blizzard is trying to work… -
Early Birthday Gift

Thanks Mr. Headless Horseman! I finally got my [Sinister Squashling] pet to drop, and completed my “Hallowed Be Thy Name” achievement. Also with that achievement out of the way, I completed the “What A Long, Strange Trip It’s Been” achievement, which then rewarded me with my Violet Proto-Drake! As for me, I am still missing one thing to get the required achievement from the Hallow’s End event. I still need my [Sinister Squashling] for the “Hallowed Be Thy Name” achievement.
