What a few days. It’s amazing how much interest a little piece of metal can produce. As a proud member of the team at Kelby Training, I wanted to share my experience with the D800. This project has been going on for many months. i was approached by my good friends at K&L in Tokyo- Nikon’s agency for decades- and was blown away that they asked me to participate with this project. My job was well defined: Use the D800 in a way that utilizes and highlights the latest features the D800 offers in real world wedding conditions that I’d face week in and week out. Simple, right?

I was simply reporting what I had been told. I personally don’t have a dog in this hunt. As my post clearly expresses, I personally think 36mp is too many for a 35mm sensor. Your mileage may vary. I’ll start with the usual disclaimer. I am not one of the cool kids so I have never shot with a D800. This is not a review. It snowed the night before, so before we could go up the runway had to be plowed. While the plane gets filled we look at the plane and take it in. Soon, we will be thousands of feet in the air. Something that is just beginning to take off. As a personal challenge, I shot and edited this in the same night. Only now am I uploaded it because I have decent internet. I left for Austin two weeks after my road trip back from California where I had shot Sarah Michael’s wedding. I really loved this couple, they made me feel more welcome then ever before and I put this wedding up there as the best one. Not because it was the most expensive or had the best venue, but because the people were so genuine and honest and it really showed in with the photos. For the moment, it’s unknown whether the lens count will include any mirrorless camera lenses, or if we’re talking EF lenses.
